Folia Filotaxis emerges as a variation of the original piece Folia, this time exploring the orientation from which the "folias", or leaves, unfold. The aim was to study the logic of the spiral, looking for the most organic and natural geometry possible.
The geometry behind the spiral, known as phyllotaxis, was developed in collaboration with Javier Gaxiola, an expert in geometry and parametric design. Together we established the precise order of the elements, resulting in a hypnotic spiral that reflects the complexity present in nature.
Folia Filotaxis can be scaled infinitely; The proposed diameter is 2.7 m, although the original version reached 5.8 m, emphasizing the infinite potential of the spiral. The piece uses the same technique as the original Folia: bamboo under tension, creating a natural and fluid movement reminiscent of foliage.
It's another exploration within Light and Stone, where nature continues to reveal its hidden logic and beauty.

Technique: three-dimensional design of bamboo leaves that follow a spiral sequence, placed on a PVC base and finished with automotive polyurethane paint.
A clean technique is used that subjects the pieces to a tension controlled by ropes.
